PROJECT

Two-Level Retaining Wall

SCOPE

The project navigated strict topographical constraints, municipal bylaws, and utility right-of-way restrictions. Coordination with city authorities and utility providers ensured compliance, with ongoing site inspections supporting construction approvals and schedule adherence.

LOCATION

1857 Cliffwood Rd., North Vancouver, BC

PROJECT SUMMARY

The client requested a retaining wall at Cliffwood to maintain elevation for the driveway and backyard. Arch designed a 30-meter, two-tier, curved Allan block retaining wall to increase usable yard space and stop material from sloughing onto the driveway.

Challenges included limited alignment options due to terrain, city bylaws, and nearby utilities. After coordinating with the municipality and utility providers, our team conducted site inspections during retaining wall construction to support schedule sign-off and secure engineering approvals.
