Arch Engineers Ltd. led the concrete re-decking of a community swimming pool at a strata complex. The project required careful management of structural surveys, design, permitting, and coordination with regulatory bodies. The initial phase involved a comprehensive survey of the entire deck surface, swimming pool, and surrounding retaining walls. This established current elevations and assessed the condition of underlying structures.
Following the survey, Arch Engineers developed a conceptual sketch of the new deck design. It incorporated necessary drainage updates to enhance functionality and durability. Arch then prepared a detailed Request for Proposal (RFP) and conducted a market analysis for the demolition and disposal of the existing concrete. This analysis secured competitive bids and enabled efficient, cost-effective removal of the old concrete and re-decking of the area around the community swimming pool.
Our scope also included interfacing with city officials and Vancouver health authorities to obtain required permits. Since the work was adjacent to a public swimming pool, additional safety and compliance measures were necessary.
Arch Engineers coordinated all phases of the project, from initial design through execution. We ensured high-quality results and full compliance with municipal regulations, while prioritizing the safety and satisfaction of the community.
