PROJECT

Main Building Staged Demolition

SCOPE

Arch Engineers developed a step-by-step demolition sequence for an 80-year-old mill structure lacking design drawings. Using RISA and Revit models, we provided real-time engineering updates, enabling crews to work continuously without delay.

LOCATION

Port Alice, BC

PROJECT SUMMARY

Building Demolition Project Overview
This aging structure was scheduled for building demolition, and Arch’s reputation for clear communication and simple constructability earned us a key role on the demolition team. Over years of operation, the structure underwent many additions, but no design drawings existed to clarify how it—and its connections—would behave when parts were removed.

Demolition Sequencing and Execution
Arch modeled the mill and associated structures using RISA and Revit. We then defined a clear, step-by-step demolition sequence for the team to follow. We delivered steps regularly, sometimes multiple times per week, to keep the demolition moving and avoid delays.

The initial scope expanded into multiple other demolition projects on site due to our fast delivery and demolition efficiency.
